Our Personal Landfill
A woman mentioned that it was important to remember that the stuff we throw away doesn't go away — it goes to a landfill where it is buried ... and there it stays — for years and years. It reminded me of my work and I realized that we all have our own landfill inside of us where we bury the hurts, the disappointments and the stuff we don't want to deal with and, like the trash, it doesn't go away. It stays there and pollutes our personal environment and can become fuel for our fears.
We bury the anger, the tears, the rejection, the grief, all of the things we think we don't have time for — or don't want to deal with. Our bodies are as precious as the earth and, just as we think the earth can handle what we do to it, so do we think that of ourselves. Like the earth we can only handle so much before we start to break down. Burying things, whether it's trash or feelings, doesn't make it go away.

I was watching the show Oprah did on going "green."
